The year`s highlights

After the re-start of the regular Armenian inter-clubs tournaments in 1972, tournaments and all activities come to a stop because of the 6th October war. Only two tournaments are held in 1973 and all AGBU Egypt and HMEM Nubar activities come to a halt starting from October.

HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Mothers’ Day celebration. Artistic program, poems, honouring of the community’s oldest mothers.

Monday 30 April
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Sham El Nessim, traditional Egyptian breakfast followed by lunch. Kermesse throughout the day.
HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Celebration of Sham el Nessim. Armenian music, friendly games, Kebab and Lahmajun. Kermesse and basketball matches among members.

HMEM Nubar Cairo: Grand ball evening with the Merry Devils Band.
Theme: Hilton Tropicana moves to Heliopolis! Great dancing evening at the club’s pergola with the Red Devils band organised by the youth committee. Entrance fee: 25 PT.

Friday 20 to Sunday 22 July
HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Pan-Armenian basketball tournament under the auspices of Mr and Mrs Vahan Alexanian. Celebration of HMEM’s jubilee.
