HMEM Nubar Cairo: victory of HMEM’s U-15 basketball team over the team of Nasr by 67/63 in the Egyptian federation’s league.

HMEM Nubar Cairo: Basketball matches against Hellenic in U-15, women’s and men’s categories. Cup offered by Mr.  and Mrs. Vartan Arakelian, medals by Mr. and Mrs. Antro Varjabedian

HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Lecture by Prof. Frederic Feydi on the relation between Armenian and Western Culture. The lecture is given at the Dikran Yergat club.

Commemorative evening for the victims of the Genocide organised by AGBU Alexandria, HMEM Nubar Alexandria and Dikran Yergat. Lecturer Mr. Benyamin Mamourian.

Friday 30 April
HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Lebanese Evening with Mr Kevork Kupelian lecturing on the Armenians in Lebanon and on the opening of the Alec Manoukian AGBU centre. Different Lebanese dishes are served after the lecture.

Friday 7 May
HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Lecture evening; Mr Barkev Nazaretian on the first meeting in Armenia of the youth organisations from the Diaspora.

Sunday 16 May
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Bazaar organised by the ladies’ committee under the auspices of Mr and Mrs Aram Ferhadi.

HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Annual Kermesse organised by the scouts and Opening of the club’s pergola. Dinner dance with “The midnight Experience” band

AGBU Cairo: Free speech evening at the headquarters organised by the cultural committee with the participation of 28 youngsters expressing their views on different Armenian, political, cultural and different subjects. Jury members: Rev. Nerseh Paboudjian, Dikran Babigian and Hagop Hampigian. Fist prize: 18 year old Varoujan Kazandjian, second prize: Mayda Balayan, third prize: Marzbed Artinian

HMEM Nubar Cairo trip to Alexandria to attend the inter-cities sports event.

Results of the basketball matches: HMEM Nubar Cairo girls’ team defeats HMEM Nubar Alexandria 34/30. Best player of Cairo: Maro Vosgueritchian.
HMEM Nubar Cairo men’s team win 50-47.
In the evening, Annual great ball at the Yacht Club with the Yacht Dreamers band.

HMEM Nubar Cairo: Hellenic youth basketball team defeats HMEM Nubar Cairo by 63/57. HMEM Nubar Cairo men’s team defeats Hellenic by 103/59. Best players: Vahé Varjabedian, Onnig Alexanian. Ara Vosgueritchian and Viken Varjabedian who scores 43 out the 103 points.

Thursday 21 October
HMEM Nubar Cairo: opening of the season prepared by the youth committee. Entertainment under the auspices of Mr and Mrs Hratch Simonian.

Saturday 6 November
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Great annual ball in Maryland with Ram-Jam band and the famous oriental dancer Soheir Zaki. Entry fees and dinner: 300 P.T.

Sunday 7 November
HMEM Nubar Cairo: friendly basketball match between HMEM Nubar’s girls team and the team of Mère de Dieu. HMEM Nubar Cairo wins 51/41. In the match between HMEM boys’ team and Al Ahly club, HMEM Nubar Cairo wins 101/76.

Sunday 21 November
HMEM Nubar Cairo: inter-cities basketball tournament on the Mr and Mrs Haygazoun Kurkjian cup. Medals offered by Mr and Mrs Antranig Varjabedian.
Results: HMEM Nubar Alexandria girls team defeats HMEM Nubar Cairo 39/37. HMEM Nubar Cairo men’s team beats Alexandria 82/57
