HMEM Nubar Cairo scouts’ movement: march at St. Gregory church
AGBU Cairo participates with its Geroung choir in the “paradon” of the Artistic club at the AUC’s Ewart Memmorial hall

Sunday 27 January
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Pastry bazaar followed by a veterans’ match on the occasion of the visit of the club’s former basketball star Onno Alexanian.

Saturday 26 to Monday 28 January
HMEM Nubar Cairo & Alexandria scouts’ movement: Three day joint camping at the HMEM Nubar Cairo club with the participation of 65 scouts, guides, cubs & brownies from both clubs.
Educational excursions to Wisa Wasef village, Al Haraneya and the Pharaonic village.

Thursday 31 January – Saturday 2 February
HMEM Nubar Cairo table tennis participated in the Artistic club tournament losing to Kegharvest in the semi final 1-3.
Team members: Viken Djizmedjian, Gary Giragossian, Zaven Kazandjian and Serge Sakaian.

Sunday 17 February
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Opening of the renovated football pitch (new grass, net barriers and new goals) with the participation of 4 clubs’ teams: Vakr, Hovaz, Aridj & Ardziv. The trophy offered by Mr. & Mrs. Heratch Simonian was won by the Hovaz team. Final was officiated by international referee Mahmoud Osman.
Hovaz team members: Herair Dertadian, Viken Djizmedjian, Hagop and Koko Apigian, Vazken Ekserdjian, Berdj & Roupen Doevletian,
– AGBU Cairo: Celebration of Alek Manougian’s 30th anniversary as AGBU president at the Belekdanian hall, with the participation of the AGBU Geroung choir. Speeches by Vahan Tchechenian and Hagop Ekserdjian

Sunday 24 February
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Cocktail reception for basketball team coach Nabil Morsi for his election as member of the Egyptian basketball federation Board. Fathy Shehata replaces him as coach of the club’s basketball team.

HMEM Nubar Cairo scouts movement: Educational excursion to the Citadel.

Sunday 10 March
HMEM Alex General Assembly & elections: President: Vahram Tossounian, vice-president: Vrej Seferian, secretary: Garbis Tossounian, treasurer: Haygazoun Derderian. Members: Araxi Tavitian & Dr. Arto Artrinian.

Friday 22 March
AGBU Cairo General Assembly & elections: President: Vahan Tchechenian, vice-president: George Mikaelian, secretary: Norair Doevletian, treasurer: Mardig Balaian, members: Berdj Terzian, Hovhannes Denkdjian & Dr. Garo Apkarian.

Saturday 23 March
HMEM Nubar Alexandria: Opening of the renovated Basketball playground and the Nazaret Zambakian Hall. Architect: Karekin Nakheskerian.
Renovation works included: New tiles, dressing rooms, gymnasium, 6 spotlights and electrical works (donated by Mr. & Mrs. Levon Kaghtatsian, other major donations by Mr. Alek Manougian 10 500 US$ and Mrs. Nounig Zambakian 15 000 LE)

Tuesday 26 March
AGBU Egypt changes its name from AGBU Egypt Central committee to AGBU Egypt District committee: President: Hovhannes Kehyaian, vice-president: Berdj Terzian, secretary: Hagop Hampigian, treasurer: Puzant Proudian, members: Vahan Alexanian, Onnig Alexanian, Hagop Markarian, Krikor Shahbenderian, Arto Belekdanian, Vahan Chechenian, Hagop Vartsbedian.

5-8 April
HMEM Nubar Cairo & Alexandria participate in the 10th Navasartian Games in Geneva.
HMEM Nubar Cairo occupies the 2nd position out of 8 teams and is beaten by the joint Montreal/Toronto team 67-77
HMEM Nubar Alexandria occupies the 4th position losing against Beirut.

Thursday 27 June
HMEM Nubar Cairo basketball team wins the Cairo B league among 6 teams, beating Heliopolis SC in the final 75-58. The other teams were Esko, Bank El Ahly, Defaa Gawy and Abou Zaabal.

Saturday 29 June
HMEM Nubar Cairo: Grand Ball at the Sheraton Heliopolis Hotel around the swimming pool with the X-Mass band and celebration of the Cairo district cup win.

Tuesday 8 July
HMEM Nubar Cairo: “Vochkharaseghan” offered by Mayk Zadourian for the win of the club’s basketball team.

Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July
HMEM Nubar Cairo scouts movement: Three day camping for cubs & brownies at the club

HMEM Nubar Cairo & Alexandria scouts’ movement: Camping in Marsa Matrouh headed by scoutmasters Viken Djizmedjian and Garbis Tossounian with the participation of the two clubs scouts and guides.
Excursions to Cleopatra, Blue Lagoon, Rommel island.

Sunday 6 October
HMEM Nubar Cairo basketball and table tennis day with HMEM Nubar Alexandria.
Mini-basket cup offered by Mr. & Mrs. Mayk Zadourian, table tennis cup by Mr. & Mrs. Aram Koutnouian, seniors cup by Mr. & Mrs. Hagop Ekserdjian.

– AGBU Cairo: Geroung choir annual recital at AUC’s Ewart Memmorial Hall conducted by Maestro Hayg Sarkissian. Piano Gassia Doevletian.
