AGBU Cairo and HMEM Nubar Cairo organized an educational lecture, on Sunday 18th February 2018, on the subject of banknotes and forgery, through Dr. George Simonian, senior lecturer at Helwan University’s Faculty of Applied Arts at HMEM Nubar Cairo’s club-house.
After introductions by the chairmen of HMEM Nubar Cairo and AGBU Cairo, Messrs. Jirayr Depoyan and Dr. Viken Djizmedjian, Dr. George presented his topic with utmost ease, explaining the different types of banknotes, the characteristics of each and the different types of counterfeiting and ways of detecting forgery.
Dr. George Simonian, who has two PHD’s from the London College of Printing and Helwan University, is a leading and well-known figure in Helwan University where he acted as vice-dean and acting dean from 2012-2017. His popularity and deep knowledge in the ever-evolving field of printing makes him one of the few Egyptian experts who are constantly demanded to lecture in local and international forums and seminars.
Thanks to his captivating way of presentation, knowledge and fervour of his subject, Dr. George was able to grab the attention of the presence all throughout the two-hour presentation and the questions and answers sequence that followed.
The audience came out with the desire of having more of such educational lectures and from our community’s specialists and important personalities.
