On the evening of Sunday July 28th, 2024, in the presence of family, relatives, and close friends, the official opening of the archives room named after the late Chairman of AGBU Cairo Dr. Viken Djizmedjian, took place at AGBU’s building in Heliopolis. The event also marked 2 years since the passing of Dr. Viken on July 27th, 2022.
Dr. George Simonian, Chairman of AGBU Cairo, delivered the opening speech, after which Dr. Maroush Yeramian, responsible for the archives room, provided a brief overview of the room’s setup, how it came to be and the valuable documents preserved there.
Mr. Berj Terzian, Honorary President of the AGBU Egypt Regional Committee, shared heartfelt words, highlighting Dr. Viken Djizmedjian’s unwavering dedication and silent work within the Union throughout his years as board observer and chairman.
The late President’s wife, Mrs. Aline Belekdanian-Djizmedjian, and his daughter, Aspé Djizmedjian-Gabeyan, expressed their gratitude to the Union and the attendees with touching words.
Guests mingled over a small reception, sharing memories and discussing their experiences with Dr. Viken and how he was perceived as a role model for the younger generation. His memory will forever remain bright in the hearts of the Egyptian Armenians.

Կիրակի, 28 Յուլիս 2024-ի երեկոյեան, ընտանիքին, ազգականներու եւ բարեկամներու մտերիմ շրջանակի մը ներկայութեամբ պաշտօնական բացումը կատարուեցաւ վաղամեռիկ ատենապետ տոքթ. Վիգէն Ճիզմէճեանի անունը կրող Եգիպտոսի ՀԲԸՄիութեան արխիւասրահին:
Բացման խօսքով հանդէս եկաւ ՀԲԸՄիութեան Գահիրէի մասնաճիւղի ատենապետ դոկտ. Ճորճ Սիմոնեան, որմէ ետք արխիւասրահի պատասխանատու դոկտ. Մարուշ Երամեան հակիրճ տեղեկութիւններ տուաւ արխիւասրահի կազմաւորումին եւ հոն պահ դրուած արխիւի նիւթերուն մասին:
Իր սրտի խօսքը փոխանցեց ՀԲԸՄի Եգիպտոսի Շրջանակային Յանձնաժողովի պատուոյ ատենապետ տիար Պերճ Թէրզեան, վեր առնելով տոքթ. Վիգէն Ճիզմէճեանի անսակարկ նուիրումը եւ լուռ աշխատանքը Միութեան յարկէն ներս:
Շնորհակալական իրենց սրտի խօսքը փոխանցեցին վաղամեռիկ ատենապետին տիկինը՝ Ալին Պըլըքտանեան-Ճիզմէճեանն ու անոր դուստրը՝ Ասփէ Ճիզմէճեան-Կապէեանը:
Փոքրիկ հիւրասիրութեան մը շուրջ ներկաները մտերմօրէն զրուցեցին եւ իրենց յուշերը բաժնեկցեցան: Տոքթ. Վիգէն Ճիզմէճեան տիպար օրինակ մըն է իրեն յաջորդող երիտասարդներուն համար: Իր յիշատակը միշտ վառ կը մնայ եգիպտահայոց սրտերուն մէջ:
