It is with great joy and enthusiasm that AVC-AGBU Egypt celebrated its 2022 comeback after two stoppage years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Re-Launch event was organised on Wednesday, 18th May at 7pm at AGBU Cairo’s Chaker Cultural Center in Heliopolis. The presence included AGBU Cairo’s chairman, the responsibles of the project and all the Armenian Language and Chess enrolled students! The parents of the chess students were present as well.
Dr. Viken Djizmedjian, the Chairman of AGBU Cairo, opened the event welcoming the presence. He stressed on the importance given by AGBU to spread the knowledge of Armenian language. Mrs. Anna Dolabjian-Trayan, the AVC Ambassador and senior advisor, then took the floor to welcome back the continuing students and greet the newcomers!
AVC-AGBU Egypt was launched in 2013. Since then, in joint efforts with AVC Armenia and AGBU Cairo, the chapter has had more than 65 students in Armenian Language and Chess and is continuing to grow.
The highlight of the event was the welcome and greetings of Dr. Yervant Zorian, founding President of AGBU’s Armenian Virtual College. AVC-AGBU Egypt was honored by his intervention and thanked him for giving his time and connecting live from Armenia with his warm encouraging words and interesting facts on AVC.
Dr. Zorian was accompanied by Arpine Tavakalian, AVC Manager of the partnership and operations team, who is the main connecting point with AVC Armenia.
After that an AVC Promotional Video was run. The audience was impressed by the curriculum diversity and state of art technologies of the AVC, which historically has been an avangarde of online education.
Armenian Language Senior Students Michel Tazbaz and George Lawandi cheered up the audience with their speeches performed in AVC-learned Armenian! The questions and answers and schedules information were taken to the Reception area, where all the present got the opportunity to mingle up and celebrate the occasion.
The enrolled 32 Language and 19 Chess students of AVC-AGBU Egypt will be embarking on their first 2022 trimester as of next week.
