Baruyr Bardizbanian (1887-1932)

Very little is known about Baruyr Bardizbanian. He was born in Istanbul, in 1887 and studied architecture and painting in its School of Fine Arts, probably during 1902 – 1907. In around 1910 he visited Germany. Being infected by tuberculosis, he was advised by doctors to move to Egypt, because of its mild and dry climate. Thus in 1923 he came to Egypt and worked as a professional architect. His two notable achievements in this field were: The Greek Church Evangelichos, in Byzantine style.
