Eliz Partam (1930-2007)

Known in artistic circles in Cairo as Eliz Partam, Eliz Hadjenlian – Partamian was born in Cairo on the 10th of December 1930. Her father was Babel Hadjenlian, owned a small shop of haberdashery in down town Cairo. Her mother Kohar Torossian – Hadjenlian was a qualified dressmaker. It seems that Eliz inherited good taste and a love of the beautiful from her mother. She acquired her elementary education initially at Kalousdian Armenian School in Cairo, graduating in 1944, then from 1944-47 at Immaculate Conception School (I.C.S.), a secondary school established at Cairene Sabteya quarter by Irish Catholic sisters.
