Շաբաթ, 13 Հոկտեմբերի երեկոյեան ժամը 8-ին, Պըլըքտանեան սրահէն ներս տեղի ունեցաւ Եգիպտոսի Հայոց Թեմի «Արաքս» երգչախումբին տարեկան համերգը, ղեկավարութեամբ Միհրան Ղազէլեանի, որ նուիրուած էր Հայաստանի Ա. Հանրապետութեան 100 ամեակին եւ Մայիսեան յաղթանակներուն:
Բացման խօսքն ու հանդիսավարութիւնը կատարեց տիկին Լալա Շամամեան-Նիկոլեան: Երգերուն ընտրութիւնը համահունչ էր այս փառապանծ առիթին:
Ներկայացուած տասը երգերուն միջեւ եղած դադարին ցուցադրուեցաւ Թաթուլ Յակոբեանի վաւերագրական ժապաւէնը, Հայաստանի Ա. Հանրապետութեան հիմնադրութիւնը նախորդող դէպքերու պատումին նուիրուած:
Փակումը կատարուեցաւ Եգիպտահայ թեմի բարեջան Առաջնորդին՝ Աշոտ Սրբազան Մնացականեանի կողմէ, որ դրուատիքով խօսեցաւ գաղութին երգչախումբերուն եւ պարախումբերուն մասին եւ գովեց անոնց ներդրումը հայապահպանման յոյժ կարեւոր գործին մէջ:
Սրբազան Առաջնորդը ըսաւ նաեւ, թէ մեզմէ իւրաքանչիւրը կրնայ իր առօրեային մէջ ալ հերոս դառնալ, եթէ կատարէ իր ուսերուն դրուած հայապահպանման այնքան դժուար եւ կարեւոր աշխատանքը:
Սրահը լեցուցած խուռներամ բազմութիւնը հեռացաւ, գեղեցիկ երեկոյ մը վայելած ըլլալու գոհութեամբ եւ ուրախութեամբ:
On Saturday, October 13, at 8:00 pm, the annual performance of the “Arax” choir of Cairo’s Armenian Diocese; led by Maestro Mihran Ghazelian, was held at the Belekdanian Hall in Cairo. The recital was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first Republic of Armenia and the May victories.
Mrs. Lala Shamamian-Nigolian made the opening speech and presentation. The songs were carefully selected to be in line with this glorious occasion.
Tatul Hakobyan’s documentary was screened during the pause between the ten songs. The film depicted the preceding events of the establishment of the first Republic.
The Prelate of the Egyptian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, His Grace Bishop Ashot Mnatsakanian, in his closing remarks praised the community and their performers; members of choirs and dance troupes for their contribution to the important task of preserving the Armenian identity. His Grace stressed that each of us can become a hero in his everyday life, if he or she fulfills the difficult and important task of preserving the Armenian identity in his or her own way.
The large crowd parted with a beautiful sense of fulfillment, gratitude and joy.
